Safe Kid

I signed Meredith up to participate in a Kid's Safety class this week.  It was a three day class and lasted for 30 minutes.  It started this Monday and ended on Wednesday.  They were taught many things including, car seat safety, safety crossing the street, safe and unsafe touches, fire safety, bullies and stranger danger.  It was a fantastic class, and Meredith enjoyed it!  I was really surprised at how much she learned and remembered!  They were taught a special song.  I can't remember most of it, but this is the chorus:

This is my body.

It belongs to me.

It is special.

Can't you see.

Safe touches

Make me smile.

Pats on the back.

and high fives WOW!

Unsafe touches

Are not okay!

I can say NO,

and run away!

I would recommend this class to anyone with small children.  Nicole, who teaches the class does a fabulous job, and the kids learn so much!  After finishing the three day class each child was given a special coloring book and a certificate of completion.  Take a look at this proud little girl...

The certificate is a Safety Star Award and says...In recognition of learning all about being safe:  in the car, crossing the street, and with fire as well as learning about safe and unsafe touches and bullies!
