We love T-Ball!

Meredith decided this year that she wanted to play t-ball.  We signed her up and got her ready for her first t-ball practice. 

She got her uniform before the first game.  She chose #3 for her number, and she was super excited about the hat!

 

 

 

 

 

 

She has decided that green is not her color.  She wanted to know why they couldn't wear purple uniforms.  We told her that we didn't think the boys on the team would appreciate purple.  She went on to say that she could just wear purple and they could wear the green.  She finally settled on just wearing her purple jacket when it was cold. 

Last night was Meredith's final game for the season.  She was so excited because they had a party after the game, and each teammate was given a trophy.

She was so excited about that trophy!  We are all looking forward to the spring.  Creig will be coaching her team next season, as Coach Dale is moving up to the rookies with his son, Cory.  We are so proud of Meredith!  Next up...Cheerleading for the basketball teams!

 



 

Kindergarten....Here she comes!

It is officially here!  Time for our sweet girl to start Kindergarten.  While her first official day isn't until next Tuesday, today was her Kindergarten assessment day.  Last night we picked out her clothes, shoes and packed her bookbag and lunch box.  She was so excited about today that she had a very hard time falling asleep last night.  This morning, I made her requested breakfast of bacon and toast with jelly.  Her lunch box was packed with a ham and cheese sandwich, chips, grapes, cookies, juice and water.  By 7:15 we were ready to go!

I think I was definitely more nervous than she was.  She did great!  They gave us some forms to fill out and then had all the children line up at the cafeteria doors to go to their classroom.  Meredith lined up with everyone else and smiled at me.  I did pretty well, and then she looked at me and blew me kisses and said "Bye Mom, have a great day!"  It was all I could do to get out of there and to my car before the tears started.  She is such a big girl, and I know she is going to do fantastic! 



Dance Recital 2012

Meredith's dance recital was just a week ago in Charlotte at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.  She had a super cute costume this year.  She was so excited because this year she was in the opening number.  She also did a tap and jazz dance. 

She had her final dance class a week before the recital.  They dressed in their costumes and the families were invited to watch the class.

This year her class was asked to participate in the opening of the recital.  They sang and danced to the Mickey Mouse March.  This is a picture of them waiting with their light sticks, ready to come down the aisle. 

We were so proud of her!  After three years of dancing, she is still trying to decide if she wants to continue dance or take T-Ball.  We are sure she will do great in anything she tries to do. 

Pre-K Graduation

Meredith's Pre-K graduation was on June 8th, and she was so excited.  Granmommy, Grandaddy, Aunt Tippy, Aunt Donna, Great Gran, Gramsy, Mommy and Daddy were there to see her perform.

Our Graduate

It is so hard to believe that our little girl is ready for Kindergarten.  It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.  She has had some of the best teachers at Kids are First and we are all sad to leave them.  But, I know they have prepared Meredith well for Kindergarten.  She is an amazingly smart and kind little girl.  I know she will do great in Kindergarten and make lots of new friends.

Tooth #5

Thursday night Meredith and I were watching TV while Creig did some work on the computer.  Out of the blue, Meredith started screaming, "oh no! oh no!".  When I got to her she was holding one of her top front teeth in her hand and her mouth was bleeding a little.  Her top, four front teeth had been loose so, we were expecting this to happen.  But, I was not expecting her to pull it out herself.  Out of the other four teeth she has lost, we only have one to show for it.  For some reason or the other she likes to loose her teeth in her food an swallow them.  HA!

So, the first top tooth has been pulled and she is super proud of it!

Mother's Day Tea

Each year Meredith's daycare has a Mother's Day Tea, and I love being able to go and enjoy that with her.  This was was extra special, because this is her last year in daycare.  She will start Kindergarten this year. 

They made us the sweetest wind chimes out of flower pots and beads.  It was so cute!  Meredith had invited Granmommy to come too, and she was so excited Granmommy came. 

They had great food...strawberries, cheese balls and crackers, spinach dip, pinwheels and cake.  And, of course tea.  We had a great time, and Meredith was so excited she got to go home early with me.  I am so going to miss things like this when she goes to "big school" in the Fall.

Relay for Life 2012

Relay for Life was on May 4th this year.  Mom got us all signed up, got our t-shirts for us and we all met at Sun Valley High School.  It was quite a warm day, but we had a great time.

Meredith loves her wagon, and had a blast being pulled around the track.  She had it easy.  We walked in honor of my Mom, a thyroid cancer survivor.  We also walked in memory of Creig's dad.  He passed away in 2008 from prostate cancer.

I think Meredith's favorite thing about the walk was the kids play area.  She loved the bouncy houses and huge slides. 

We took Meredith to the CMC-Union booth and they were doing silly Cindy Lou Who hairstyles.  Of course, Meredith had to have hers done.  It was super cute!
