Santa Claus is in town!

Meredith was so excited that Santa Claus was going to be coming to town the day after Thanksgiving.  She of course, was planning to be there that very day!  My Dad and I took her to the mall so she could see Santa.  She did much better this year.  She gave him a hug and shook his hand, but she would not sit on his lap!  

When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, the first thing she said was "a puppy".  He quickly informed her that Santa doesn't deliver puppies, because they might fall out of the sleigh.  She told him she wanted the Fur Real Pet's puppy "Cookie".  He then told her he might be able to work something out.  

She also asked him for a barbie, a baby doll, books and clothes.  She had made a list the night before, but was so excited she forgot it.  She did a great job remembering what she was going to tell him though!  

Her favorite song right now is, "Up on the Housetop" and we sing it all the time!   



Thanksgiving Fun!

We had such a nice Thanksgiving this year!  We spent the day at my Mom and Dad's.  Of course, we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade... a must in our family!  Meredith had a great time with her Grandaddy outside.  She just had to get involved with the raking of the leaves.

She had so much fun with her Grandaddy outside!  She loves being outdoors. 

I think she was deep in thought here, or maybe she was thinking about how many more leave there were on the ground!

At this point, I think she was about ready to give up!  HA!

I love this silly girl!  She is so much fun!

Of course, in the midst of all of this Dad and Creig were getting the oil hot and frying a turkey!  It was super good too!  We took it over to Aunt Donna's along with the other sides we made to go along with the other great food Aunt Donna and Laurie made and we all stuffed ourselves!  It was the best meal I've had in a while...and, Aunt Donna's sweet potato pie was the best!

Meredith had a blast with Alex, Morgan and Connor.  On Friday night, we went over to Aunt Donna's to roast hotdogs and marshmallows on a bonfire. 

Meredith loves it when Alex and Morgan are in town.  They have so much fun together! 

We had such a great weekend! 

Turkey Trot

Last Tuesday, Meredith's class at Kids are First had a special Thanksgiving program and lunch.  All the parents were invited to attend, and Meredith was so excited that I was going to be able to come.  I was too!

I loved their little turkey costumes!  Especially the tail feathers!  They perfromed a program outside for us.  They danced to the Turkey Trot.  Instead of the Hokey Pokey, they changed the words and made the song the Turkey Trot.  It was super cute, and Meredith did such a great job!

After the program, we had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, and yams.  They had some very yummy cake for us too!  Of course, I had to go back to work and Meredith had to stay at school for nap.  That was the hard part!  We had a wonderful time, and I am so going to miss these little parties and times together next year when she goes to "big school".

Shake Your Groove Thing

Meredith had her first parent watch day at dance class on Saturday.  I love going to watch her in dance class, because I get to see all that she has learned.  She is doing so well, and I like seeing her growth as she gets older in dance. 

Of course, Granmommy and Grandaddy came to watch too! 

This year she is taking tap, jazz and ballet.  She dances on Saturday morning and her teacher is Miss Alicia.  She loves her class this year!

She loves dancing at the bar, and she is learning her positions!

Meredith did a great job, and we were so proud of her!

The Big Halloween Parties

Meredith had a big halloween this year!  She had a halloween party at school, one of her friends at school had a party, and she went trick or treating. 
Meredith couldn't quite decide what she wanted to be this year, so she decided to be a witch for her school party. 

Meredith was so excited, and of course she was sitting with her friend or partner in crime, Campbell when I arrived!

These two are so silly!  They had so many goodies and sweets I had no idea how I was going to get her to bed.  I think the teachers certainly had a plan when they had the party on a Friday, instead of Halloween Monday.  They didn't want to deal with the sugared up children on Tuesday!  HA!

Meredith, Kyle and Campbell lined up to go trick or treating in the classrooms!  Isn't Kyle's costume so real looking?!

Kyle's parents planned an exciting and fun party for all of his friends in his class.  Meredith talked about it for weeks, and was so excited when the day came!  She finally decided to dress up as a ballerina princess!

Kyle's parents had pumpkins for each of the children to paint.  Meredith thought it was the coolest thing ever, and she had a blast painting her pumpkin.  She did a great job and by the time she was done it was covered!

They also had hayrides for the kids.  Meredith is in the front with the crazy hat and pink jacket.  She loved the hayride and had such a good time.  They gave all the kids light sticks to take on the hayride too!

I love this picture of Meredith coming back in from the hayride with her little tutu bunched up in the back!  She will be mad at me one day for that!  HA!

After the hayride, they had a pinata.  All the kids had so much fun with it, and Meredith even got to try at hitting it with the bat!  Before we left they gave each of the kids a goody bag.  Meredith didn't want to leave.  She loves Kyle's Mom!  Kyle's parents are amazing!  I cannot even imagine what kind of planning they did to get ready for this party, and I so appreciated everything they did!  Meredith is still talking about it!

Halloween night we took Meredith trick or treating in our neighborhood.  She decided again that she would be a ballerina princess. 

Creig and I laughed and laughed at her because she kept going outside to see if it was getting dark!

I love this picture!  I think she thought if she just stood there it would get darker a lot faster.  That pumpkin is the one she painted at Kyle's party.

She had a great time trick or treating and she got just enough candy!

AW SHUCKS!

Meredith's class enjoyed a great field trip to a local pumpkin patch in October!  I was so blessed to be able to meet them there and join in on the fun. 

Meredith loves riding on the KAF school bus!  She was so excited when they got to the pumpkin patch. 

They were first taught how to plant seeds.  It was quite scary for a while, because having 10 children in a small space with gardening hoes is probably not a very good idea.  But, we got through it.  Meredith did a great job planting her seeds. 

After the planting, we all went on a hayride.  Meredith wouldn't let me take any pictures during the hayride, because she wanted to sit on my lap the whole time.  She had a great time, and enjoyed the ride. 

After the hayride the class went to see the animals.  They had a picnic at the pumpkin patch, and Meredith said that was so much fun!  Each child brought home a small pumpkin. 

We love fall!

A Trip to the Fire Station

Meredith's class spent a lot of time learning about fire safety in October.  Her teachers planned a trip to the Hemby Bridge Fire Department, so the children could meet with some of our local fire fighters and also see what goes on at a fire department.

This was Meredith's first field trip, and she was super excited! They first went into the bay to see the fire trucks and equipment.  One of the fire fighters showed them what they have to wear when they are fighting fires. 

Next, they were taken into the living quarters to see where the fire fighters sleep, eat and relax (when they can).  I think the kids enjoyed the big recliners the most!
