Your Neighborhood Produce is a modern day produce co-op. There are no contracts or commitments, just substantial savings on fresh, top quality fruit and vegetables...and, it's fantastic!
Because it operates like a co-op they have major purchasing power. They combine the fees of every member by location and purchase large amounts of fresh top quality fruit and vegetables by the case from a local produce wholesaler. On pick up day, the produce cases are delivered to pick up locations and sorted evenly on site.
The fruits and vegetables are fresh, and they are so good. The closest location for us is Sardis Baptist Church in Indian Trail. They have deliveries every 1st and 3rd Thursday from 12-1. You order online and just pick it up. I order the Original Produce Basket which is $21.50, and has approximately 40-50 items in it. It retails at grocery stores for over $50. You can also purchase a smaller portion basket for $15.50, or just purchase a fruit only basket for $12.50.
We have had some amazing salads from our produce baskets. Here are two pictures of what I got yesterday...
Included in the basket were:
Carrots, lettuce, potatoes, roma tomatoes, cilantro, jalapenos, broccoli, green peppers, red delicious apples, pears, limes, and bananas.
They have a drop off for donate/trade. You can donate an item that you or your family won't eat, and pick something else from the basket. I chose to get two yellow squash instead of my cilantro.
Doing this has definitely saved us some money, and we have enjoyed more fruits and vegetables too!

If you purchase a basket, put in the special instructions section my name as a referral. Then for every 3 people you refer to the program, you get a free produce basket!
