Of course, on the way we had to stop at the Cracker Barrell for dinner. This is Meredith's absolute favorite place to eat when we go to Durham. Why? It's not the food. It's because they have a store inside and she knows her Granmommy is going to buy her something! HA!
We stayed in the same hotel for this trip as we did on our first trip. On Friday morning when we were headed to Duke Clinic, Mom and I both said we were not staying there again...time to look for a new place! We did not have the best experience, and neither one of us slept well.
Meredith loves the big buildings at Duke. We have to go down a long indoor bridge to get to the Clinic, and Meredith always stops to look out the big windows.
We had a great visit. Dr. McShane gave us a different ointment for the eczema on her hands. She also made us a referral to the Allergy and Immunology specialist at Duke. She said that we needed to find out what we could do to avoid steroid medications with Meredith. Dr. McShane wanted us to start with them first, and said we may need to see a lung specialist as well.
Meredith did great, and she loved the pretty gown they had her put on. We checked out, and they gave us our next scheduled appointments. On September 30th, we will see the Allergy and Immunology specialist. On November 11th, we will go back to see Dr. McShane.
As soon as we got in the car in the parking garage, Meredith requested Cracker Barrell for lunch. There is a special store we always like to visit in Burlington on our way home. It's Peaches n' Cream, and it is a wonderful children's clothing store. They will often have their clothing 50% off with an additional 50% off. We found Meredith several outfits, and paid less than half on some of it.
They have the cutest bows too. Meredith loves everything in the store, and it is almost impossible to get her away from the purses and bags. I am so thankful that we are able to see such amazing doctors at Duke, and I am praying that we will soon get to the bottom of all of this!
One thing's for sure...Meredith is an amazing little girl, and I am so thankful to be her Mommy!
