One Happy Little Girl

Yesterday, I took Meredith back to see her Pediatrician for a follow-up appointment.  Meredith was so happy to see Dr. Emezie.  She was yelling at her all the way down the hall.  When Dr. Emezie came in she was so excited to see how well Meredith looked, and was even more excited to find out she was eating and drinking well.  She told Meredith she was so happy she was much better.  She said that Meredith could return to school on Tuesday, and could even go to dance last night.  Meredith squealed with excitement!  And, of course she got the most important thing from Dr. Emezie...a sucker!
I took her to Chick-fil-A for lunch to celebrate, and then we went on a wild search for Sensitive Skin Sunscreen.  She has to wear sunscreen all the time outside, and unfortunately the Coppertone Kids sunscreen that we used while we were at the beach contributed to our most recent eczmea break out.  So, we looked and looked for Blue Lizard which is almost $16.  Unfortunately, it is on back order.  So, we finally settled on some Sensitive Skin sunscreen recommended by the pharmacist.  I had to buy two different tubes.  One was for the body and one was for the face.  So, we will hope and pray that this actually works and doesn't break her out.

When we got home she asked me all afternoon, "Is it time for dance?"  By 4 o'clock I was ready to just get her dressed and take her early because she had asked so much.  We finally made it to 5 o'clock and I got her dressed and we headed over to dance class.  I have never seen her more excited to go to dance!

This morning I got up extra early so I would have plenty of time to give her all of her medicines and put lots of ointments and lotion on her.  Trying to be proactive and avoid another serious eczema emergency.
Meredith was so excited about going back to school.  She missed all of her friends and her teachers so much.  When we got to school, her classroom was outside on the playground.  So, we put her things away and headed outside.  When her friends saw her they all started running up to say hi.  I kept hearing, "Hey, Meredith. We missed you"  and "Meredith we made you cards" and "Meredith we are so glad you are back."  They were hugging her and welcoming her back.  It was so sweet, and made me so thankful she has such a good group of friends and teachers.

On Thursday evening Meredith, my Mom and I will drive up to Durham and spend the night.  Meredith has an appointment at the Duke Clinic to see a Pediatric Dermatology specialist on Friday morning.  I am so thankful to have gotten this appointment so fast.  When her doctor told me they were going to make this referral, she said it could be two months or more before she could get in.  Thankfully, on Monday we got the call that they would see her this Friday.  How wonderful is that?  God does answer prayer!

I am one thankful Mommy!  I am so thankful that Meredith is better.  I am thankful that she is a strong and brave little girl.  She must get that from her Daddy, because I am one big scaredy cat!  And, I am so thankful to be the Mommy of one amazing little girl!
